Restructuring a company is one of the most traumatic experiences in the business world for employers and employees alike. When working through the selection process to reduce staff numbers, quite often our emotions come into play and distort the outcomes that are best for the business.
Employees often take offence and feel victimised or unjustifiably selected. The remaining employees can retain the feeling of anger and disregard for the management that have been part of the selection process for a long period of time after the event, which in turn affects the morale and efficiency of the entire business.
